Q: Best Solo Activity?

Wandering. I love to explore on my own with no agenda or schedule. You can discover some great places.

Q: Biggest Accomplishment you achieved on your own?

A few years ago I took an Outward Bound trip to the Colorado Rockies. It was full of physical challenges and included spending a night alone or "Solo" in the wilderness with nothing but a sleeping bag, tarp, flashlight and whistle to call for help in an emergency. I've never been as scared as that night and felt a great sense of accomplishment after that experience.

Q: You travel solo quite often, where was the last place you visited and what was the attitude towards the single traveler?

I visited Peru this summer with an adventure tour company (GAP Adventures). I was part of a group of 14 people that was a mix of couples and singles from all over the world. It was a great way to travel alone, yet meet new and interesting people while still feeling safe and comfortable in a foreign country.

Q: Alone at the movies or in front of the television?

I love going to the movies alone on a rainy Sunday, it's a great way to have a relaxing afternoon with no distractions (and of course treat myself to candy and popcorn!)

Q: Most inspiring book?

Most recently Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Q: Favorite meal to order in?

Chinese food - I like anything that can be delivered in 5 minutes or less!

Q: Words to live by?

You never get a second chance to make a first impression (I think this was a Secret Deodorant commercial a long time ago but still inspires me to put on lip gloss in the morning)

Q: They tell us you work in the beauty industry. What is a must have cosmetic for women/men?

Sunscreen. It will keep you looking young!

Q: Personal safety starts with?

Use common sense- don't walk down a dark alley late at night if you're alone.

Q: Best way to beat the blues?

Allow yourself to indulge in a night of trashy TV and ice cream but then get out with friends and keep busy. You won't have time to remember what you were blue about in the first place.

Q: What do you love most about being single?
Independence. And of course having all the closet space to myself!
