Q: Best Solo Activity?

Napping and reading out at the beach late in the afternoon after most people have left. It gives me a sense of calmness when most people are rushing to get home or to dinner.

Q: Biggest Accomplishment you achieved on your own?

Packing all of my stuff into a U-Haul and driving it from Texas to New York. I'll never forget when the World Trade Centers came into sight. It was an amazing sense of accomplishment and excitement. I laugh at how intimidating I imagined New York to be when growing up in a very small country town in Texas.

Q: Favorite Meal to Eat When No One is Watching?

Mexican food but I eat it regardless if people are watching or not. I will pretty much eat anything in front of anyone.

Q: Hockey for you is therapy, tell us what team sports does for your spirit?

Simple… Peace of mind! It gives me a chance to blame someone else for my mistakes.

Q: Your perfect spot?

Nantucket.

Q: Most Inspiring Book?

90 Minutes in Heaven. It is a true story of a guy who was pronounced dead and 90 minutes later came back to life. The book documents his remarkable recovery. Regardless of one's religious beliefs I recommend it since it puts suffering emotionally and physically in perspective.

Q: You travel solo quite frequently and often at the last minute. How do you find the courage to just get up and go?

I can never find anyone to go so I don't have a choice. Regardless, I always love the sense of adventure of going to a new place. Doing it alone often makes it turn into adventure one way or another. You know are in for a treat when a gypsy cab you hired in Caracas decides to pick up his buddy in the slums and take you for a ride.

Q: It's often hard for men to meet new friends. How do you do it?

When I moved here from Texas I didn't know anyone so it was lonely at times. I was surprised how hard it was to find a new group of guys to hang out. After a while I started playing hockey again and that gave me an opportunity to make a lot of new friends. However, I still like to think my charming personality draws people to me.

Q: Best Restaurants to dine out solo?

Pretty much any sports bar. It always provides interaction especially during football season since I'm a die hard Cowboy's fan living in NYC. One of my favorite things to do is grab the paper on Sunday morning during football season and head over to my favorite sports bar to grab brunch at the bar. I get to catch up on the news, watch football, and eat great fattening food!

Q: You live with a roommate how has that been helped your single life?

It is nice to always have a wingman available… wait… did you really have to ask that question? I keep trying to kick him out but he won't go. Anyway, thanks for ruining any chance of this questionnaire helping my dating life!

Q: Words to live by (i.e. favorite quote…)

If you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do… by Warren Miller.

Q: Best way to beat the blues?

Hitting the slopes during the winter or heading out to the beach during the summer.

Q: What do you love most about being single?

The flexibility of being on my own schedule.
