Celebrity gossip, America lives for it. There are the scandalous affairs, steamy on-screen romances that spill over into real life and a seemingly unending merry-go-round of partners and couplings. Dating reports from Hollywood provide us with a constant blitz of romantic, oft tragic, tales that make for good entertainment, but there are lessons to be learned from the messes and successes in Hollywood. For some tried and true celebrity dating tips, keep reading as we delve into the love lives of the rich and famous:

Thinking Inside the Bubble

Actors that date beyond the industry (think Matt Damon and Luciana Bozan Barroso, Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink, Jeff Bridges and Susan Gesto,) have managed to find  lasting love in a tumultuous and tempting world. Why have these couples succeeded when so many famous pairs fail?  For one thing they have escaped the relationship roller-coaster by choosing partners that counterbalance their work lifestyle, and so should you. A good relationship is based on more than just looks and riches – it’s about compatibility, mutual respect and shared values - don’t you ever forget it!

Catch Me if You Can

People cheat, there’s no escaping it. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned it’s that people, not just famous folks, get caught cheating. We are increasingly all public figures in our own universe, and social media technology – a playing field for the unfaithful - is precisely how most affairs get discovered.  According to a survey by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 20 percent of divorces involve Facebook. And while your affairs may not make the front page story in the tabloids, it will get top billing among people in your cluster - something to think about before you get caught with your pants down!

Playing Second Fiddle

Often-changing starlets may be part of A-Rod’s game but it doesn’t say much about all the women he’s dated. Playing second (Kate Hudson) or third (Cameron Diaz) is guaranteed to make for pure comic relief on more than just the late night talk shows, so don’t subject yourself to the  ridicule. Dating your friend’s ex or hooking up with someone they’ve been intimate with should be off limits…unless their statute of limitations has run out.

The Matrimonial Mania

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again…You know the motto? Well persistence may pay off but if you’ve been married multiple times and failed at it as spectacularly as Chelsea Grammar or Halle Berry, it’s time to rethink your long term relationship strategy.  We suggest you take a cue from George Clooney and stick to a happy, no financial strings attached, cohabitating lifestyle!
