Q: Where do you live?
Northwest, TN

Q: What inspired you to start writing your blog?

I actually started my blog with the intent of it being a kind of online diary. I also like to write, so I thought it would be a good way to kinda keep my skills up and to keep my brain from turning into mush (LOL). It has definitely turned into much more than an online diary..but at the same time much less as well. I try to keep the really intense personal stuff out of my blog.

Q: How has writing helped empower you since your divorce?

It does give me an outlet to voice my feelings about certain issues where ex husbands are involved, without the face to face confrontation.

Q: Between work and raising kids, how do you find "me time?"

"Me time?" Actually, it's not that hard. My work at home job provides me with a certain amount of flexibility and I usually just schedule some time off when I feel burned out.

Q: What are some of the best resources for solo parents?

Family and friends.

Q: Name a guilty pleasure that always gets you out of a bad mood.

I love to quilt and craft..so blowing a little money on fabric is a sure way to turn a frown upside down (LOL).

Q: Best place for solo parents to meet members of the opposite sex? What about new friends?
The best place for me has been on the Internet. I know a lot of people are very wary of the internet as a source for dating and friendships, but you've got to use some common sense about who you talk to and what you do...much like in real life. I run a message board as well (http://friendsfromst.proboards61.com/) and have made some very good friends through that venue that I have never met.

Q: What is the single most important lesson you learned by being a single mom?

That I have to take care of myself first, so I can take care of my family.

Q: What do you love about being single?

I love the fact that I can do whatever I want, whenever I want...children permitting LOL

Q: Any other words of wisdom?
Being a single parent has been the most rewarding experience of my life...a real blessing in disguise. It has allowed me to become closer to my children and to rediscover myself. It has definitely been a wild ride. :)
