Q: Biggest accomplishment you achieved on your own?
The biggest accomplishment I've achieved on my own is learning to live a life of balance as a mom and successful entrepreneur, by making time for myself a priority, learning to trust my intuition and by living in the moment.
Q: You counsel individuals in helping them achieve overall wellness. Can you tell us a little bit more about your approach?
One of the keys to living a happy and fulfilling life is knowing yourself, knowing what you need, knowing what you love (and what you don't love) and making choices in each and every moment to back this up. My counselling approach toward overall wellness includes guiding people to understand their values, needs and desires. Knowing how to then communicate this information clearly, confidently and gracefully becomes essential. Life will throw you curve balls, but you get to control what you think about them and what you're going to do about it!
Q: What do you think is the single biggest mistake singles make when it comes to finding true happiness?
The single biggest mistake singles make when it comes to finding true happiness is looking for love outside of themselves and by putting themselves on hold until they meet their Ms. or Mr. right. The greatest love you'll ever find comes from within.
Q: Any exercises singles can practice throughout the day to eliminate some of their daily stress?
Exercises singles can practise throughout the day to eliminate stress include: going for walks, sipping a cup of herbal tea, meditation, yoga, deep breathing, running, gratitude, random acts of kindness, choosing to think positively and as many moments for laughter as possible.
Q: What advice would you give to those dealing with emotional issues such as loneliness, anger and/or depression?
The advice I would give to those dealing with emotional issues such as loneliness, anger or depression is three-fold. To begin with, realize that
as humans we all struggle with some of these concerns from time to time. It can be beneficial to know that you aren't the only one. Nutrition, exercise,
sleep and the quality of our interpersonal relationships play a significant role in mood regulation. Ensure that you're eating a balanced diet, getting plenty of fresh air, exercise and sleep and are surrounding yourself with people that love, encourage and inspire you.
Q: Can individuals learn how to reprogram their thoughts when faced with powerful and competing external messages?
Individuals can absolutely learn to reprogram their thoughts when faced with powerful and competing external messages. I work successfully with individuals to change unhelpful thought patterns into those that make them feel confident, hopeful and empowered.
Q: What are some of the biggest mistakes you encounter when dealing with single clients?
Some of the biggest mistakes I encounter when dealing with single clients is getting them to believe that the more they work on themselves the happier they'll be. There are many gifts to single living. Happy singles are envied by other singles and by those in relationships. Real freedom is priceless.
