Q: I am a 42 year old single and have a hard time dealing with the fact that every other woman around me is pregnant or just had a baby. They stroll in late, leave for gyno appointments, call in sick regularly and head out the minute the clock strikes 5. Is there any justice for the solo gal?????

This is a tough situation to be in. It's hard to see those around you not working as hard as you are knowing the burden can easily fall on you to pick up the slack. Here's what you can do. Shift the focus away from what everyone else is or is not doing and focus on you. Do you actually have too much on your plate? Are you overburdened by projects with conflicting priorities? Without needing to blame those around you talk to your boss about your workload. If the unfair balance of work is obvious to you, it should be obvious to others as well. But even if it is not you can be subtle when describing the large workload you've been given. Taking the focus off of your coworkers and paying attention to what you need and then asking for it will make a big difference in how you feel.
