Hormones Rage on the Rag

Q: Somehow I become extremely aroused during my menstrual cycle. Is this normal for hormones to increase and can you please explain why this happens to me when I get my period?

Yes, this is totally normal and some women notice it and/or experience it more than others. Many studies have examined the link between hormone levels and sexual arousal in women. Since your hormones fluctuate over the course of your monthly, it is fair to assume that your level of sexual desire may change, as well. Many health researchers assert that more that one factor is at play when it comes to female sexual desire. And although some of the studies are inconclusive, a significant number of women will report an increase in sexual desire at varying times in their cycle.
