How About We....Put the Fun Back into Online Dating

The powers that be at online dating sites have tried just about everything. We now have compatibility testing to make sure we meet like-minded candidates, mobile widgets in case you are looking for some love on the run – even astrological matching to make sure all signs are in alignment before you select a match.

Online dating does not have to be this tedious. And it should not be based entirely on what people look like, how much they earn or the political party with whom they identify. Chemistry is complicated and one thing we know is that a strong connection rarely happens over a cup of coffee and a battery of questions.

It’s time we all put the fun, romance and spontaneity back into online dating. And if that means asking a stranger to be your guest at a wedding at the very last minute, playing hooky to go skiing with someone who enjoys the sport as much as you or hitching a ride out of town to spend the day antiquing, then so be it. You may not fall for the person but you will have a good time, which is more than a single cup of Starbucks will do for you.
