Q: Where are you from?
I'm a native Californian transplanted to Austin just as I became old enough to miss the beach.

Q: Biggest accomplishment you achieved on your own?
Actually finding a career that utilized my college major.

Q: Name three things a man can do on a date that would make you lose interest?

1. Telling me about how crazy his ex is... at length. It gets really interesting when he cites examples since this just drives the point home that there is every possibility that HE is the problem.

2. Revealing unresolved chemical dependencies or imbalances. I kind of like healthy and balanced -- but that could be just me...

3. Either talking about himself ad nauseam or leaving it to me to fish for information. I have a wide range of what I consider enjoyable communication... but the two extremes are so terribly dreary.

Q: When it comes to dating, do you think text and instant messaging is good or bad?

I'm a texter and love textflirtation but if the whole relationship is driven by IM and text.... hummmmm... not so much.

Q: What do you love most about being single?
The possible spontaneity inherent in every day.

Q: Best spot to dine out alone in your area?

Well, these days I take my Amazon Kindle and it ends up being a tool for meeting single guys who read. Never fails. So, I don't know that I dine alone all that much anymore... but I'll grab a seat at just about any restaurant bar and happily settle in for good food. Austin spots for the not so comfortable solo diner? I'd try something like Cipollina on West Lynn, Austin Java South, Joe's or South Congress Cafe (all have great people watching and comfortable atmosphere.)

Q: What advice would you give to singles that have put their lives on hold until “they meet the one?”
Cut that out! You have no idea when you are going to meet Mr. or Ms. Right -- so take that trip to Italy or Paris, nest if you want to nest, buy yourself a set of dishes that actually match and aren't in danger of slicing your finger open on the chips. You'll meet the right person for you when you are busy living your life... not waiting on indefinite hold. Besides... you're so much more attractive to the opposite sex when you have interesting things to talk about.
