It is December so no shocker that a delectable assortment of delectable cookies made the cover of Gourmet magazine this month. Sure, nothing beats a batch of homemade gingersnaps, but for those of you who do not have the time or where with all to turn their kitchen into a sweet shop for the holiday we prepared this last minute made- to- order cookie guide.

1. Friends and Relatives with Families: If you've got a slew of nieces, nephews or god children delight them with a batch of colorfully decorated hand-iced treats from Elenis. Cookie cut outs come in a variety of shapes from snowflakes to angels. Our favorite includes an assortment of gingerbread guys and gals, spiced to perfection!

2. Co-Workers and Clients: Impress colleagues, customers and even the boss with a box set of Winter Wish Cookies by Ellie and Ollie's. The peppermint, white chocolate and pistachio combo is a twist on the traditional that will surely win over sophisticated palates.

3. The Folks: If you don't have you own family-recipe then pass along someone else's. A touch of sugar and spice, from SusanSnaps, will keep everything nice with your parents. Even if you are clueless in the kitchen!

4. Grandparents: Want to treat them to something better than fruitcake? Order up a batch of White Chocolate and Cranberry cookies. The best in the Red, White and Gold category, from GeoffandDrew.com, has a hint of holiday bourbon.

5. Solo Sisters: Cinnamon is an aphrodisiac? You heard it here first. And if you cannot get them the breakfast-in-bed they have been craving the Cinnamon Swirl from Carol's Cookies is your best option!

6. Bachelor Buddies: Need to satisfy a hearty appetite? Then check out Levain Bakery. This tiny bake shop in Manhattan doles out the most solid, sizeable classics. Sure to be the best your grown up man will ever taste.

So let's face it. There is no need to be a seasonal suffragette, when you can send out delicious, old fashioned home baked treats to friends and family right from your computer!
