We understand you live in NYC. What do you love most about living single in the city?
I love the fact that I can walk out of my apartment and sit in a gorgeous community park. Finding tranquility and nature within a concrete jungle is extremely important to me.
Another thing I absolutely love to do is power walk. Strolling through the different city neighborhoods too is always a great adventure. In addition, New York City gives me the opportunity to meet so many people with different backgrounds and professions from all over the world. What advice would you give to individuals who are thinking about making the move to the big city?
I would do my homework and lots of research as to what area in New York would be the most fun to live in. Are you an Uptown type or Downtown? Do you want to live near Central Park or live a life in Midtown? Each area has its own flare.
Since New York is a large city and can be overwhelming to those who are not from here; I would recommend meetup.com groups. For every interest or hobby you have there is an activity group for you. And I know they even offer a meetup group just for people who are new to the Big Apple. --
You specialize in Reiki healing. What inspired you to pursue this path of medicine?
When I was faced with an illness and frustrated by conventional medicine, I had the happy accident of discovering Reiki. Receiving regular treatments from a Reiki Master dramatically improved my health and mental outlook. It transformed my life in ways I never could have imagined. I felt called to study Reiki myself, and to share this gentle yet powerful, healing modality with others.
What are some of the other benefits of Reiki that our readers should know about?
Designed to work on four levels--physical, mental, emotional and spiritual--Reiki is not only one of the oldest healing systems in use, it is also one of the most versatile. Reiki has inherent healing wisdom that knows exactly where the body is blocked, and moves instinctively to those areas. Why do you think so many people are turning to alternative therapies as a form of treatment?
In these current times, people want to feel empowered and learn new ways in how to transform negative thought patterns into positive ones that will help them obtain a healthier life. I speak for myself. Traditional medicine has it place and I am all for it. However, medicine does have side-effects, does not get to the “root” cause of the condition, and does not allow for growth and change.
Reiki, Shaman work, holistic nutrition and aromatherapy were key tools which changed me completely. I was not familiar with any of the above until I was forced by illness to look further into ways to help me out of my challenge, even if it was not considered the norm. Needless to say, years later, I am pleased to see that alternative treatment (Reiki in particular) is more mainstream and even recognized by the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine as energy medicine and is used widely in hospitals, clinics and spas.
In your practice have you come across many singles who suffer from emotional issues? If so, how have you helped them?
Absolutely. When someone comes to me for help with an emotional issue, I am completely accepting. I am not there to judge them or their situation. Anxiety, fear and loneliness are issues that singles come to me for, but apply to everyone. As human beings, we all have these emotions, it doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you make-single or married. However, it does matter in how you deal with these emotions that will help you get through any adversity. Reiki is a significant tool which taps into your subconscious mind and brings about the necessary changes needed to get you to the next step of wellness. Seeking help from a professional is always advised and recommended depending on the individual’s circumstance.

What do you love about being single?
As much as I look forward to meeting my soul-mate, I do enjoy the freedom and the independence that being single provides. It also gives me the opportunity to work on my self and grow so when I do the meet right person I will be ready.
