Savvy Auntie and Auntrepreneur

Q: Best solo activity?
I love walking around New York City. It's cosmopolitan, romantic, hectic, spectacular.... it's whatever you're feeling at the moment. And there's always something to see and do wherever I go. Plus, walking around gives me time to think.
Q: Biggest Accomplishment?
I am launching SavvyAuntie.com - a social network for Aunts! It's the first (and only!) online destination for Aunties, where you can exchange ideas, get advice, find gifts and connect with other Savvy Aunties. Starting a company is one (amazing) thing. Watching others enjoy the fruits of your labor is really something special.
Q: Perfect Spot?
I'm embarrassed to say, my perfect spot is my couch. I have designed my apartment in such a way that whether I am solo, with friends or with someone special, I look into a zen space from that vantage point.
Q: Most Inspiring Book?
I have read many inspiring books, but the most inspiring read lately is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's a single woman's true life journey of maturation.
Q: Personal Safety Starts with?
Personal safety starts with civic safety - like looking around for suspicious packages or behavior in public places. Look out for everyone else, and hopefully they will be looking out for you too. Civic safety is our civil duty.
Q: Best Restaurant for One?
I can dine anywhere solo. I know that, because I was having dinner with a guy friend of mine one evening when he got called out to an emergency - just as the waiter was bring the appetizers! What did I do? I ordered a glass of wine and enjoyed the rest of the meal by myself. Letting everyone around me guess if I was just stood up was part of the fun!
Q: Best Just for One Product?
My most cherished product is my Gratitude book - a beautiful leather-bound journal. Every night, before I go to sleep, I write down everyone and everything I was thankful for that day. It's amazing how it all adds up. I also love my DeLonghi indoor grill. I grill up steaks or fresh fish as a Sunday night treat!
Q: Words of Inspiration?
Listen to your heart, your mind, your body, your soul. You're the only one that can hear them.
Q: What do you love most about being single?
Honestly, I just love being me. I think whether you are married, single, or somewhere in between, as long as you like yourself, it doesn't really matter.
Q: Best Ways to Beat the Blues?
My favorite way to beat the blues is to go visit my nephew and nieces, or even talk to them over the phone. There's nothing like their little voices to put a smile on my face.
