Skinny (Gourmet) Solutions for Single Gals: Simple, Stress-Free and Oh So Good!

I am not a healthy eater – given the option, I’ll take a handful of jelly beans or a cloud of cotton candy over a real meal four times out of five. I blame it on my lifestyle - single, stressed and always pressed for time. How and when I developed this penchant for all things sugary sweet is something I am still trying to work out in therapy but despite it, I have managed to limit my options and lose more than 50 pounds over the past 7 years. But it is a constant and not always successful battle to keep it off. |
Like many, every day for me is still a battle of what and how much to eat, which is why I jumped at the opportunity to test out The Fresh Diet. Unlike other diet plans, and believe me I have tried them all at least three times a piece, with The Fresh Diet I was not left to do any thinking (i.e. making bad choices)! Meal planning was seamless through the company’s on-line, user-friendly interface, allowing me to pick and choose foods that I liked and to incorporate them into my day at the touch of a button. And because there were no calories to count, proteins to measure or carbs to curb, I was able to keep myself from over or under eating.
With plenty of options from which to choose, I was able to customize a food plan that was easy to follow and incorporate into my hectic, on-the-go lifestyle. Skipping breakfast or lunch, which is par for the course for me, was never an option since the meals plus snacks were waiting on my doorstep every morning as soon as I woke up, With desserts included, I never felt deprived.
Here’s a recap of some of the items I tasted on the menu:
Breakfast:
- Goat Cheese, Baby Spinach & Sun-Dried Tomato Omelet with Seven Grain Toast
- Mango Stuffed Honey Wheat French Toast with Raspberries and Banana Ricotta Cheese
Lunch
- Black Angus Beef Burger on Whole Wheat Bun With Tomato, Lettuce & Dijonaise
- Grilled Mahi Mahi Caesar Salad with Crisp Romaine Lettuce, Tomato, Whole Wheat Croutons & Caesar Dressing
Snack
- Grilled Canadian Bacon Over Baby Arugula with Fresh Honeydew & Toasted Pine Nuts
- Endive Cups with Blue Cheese & Roasted Cumin Walnuts
Dinner
- Pan Seared Sea Scallops with Ginger Jerk Sauce, Lemon Roasted Green Asparagus and Roasted Spaghetti Squash
- Cajun Rubbed Grilled Skirt Steak, Sweet Baby Peas and Butternut Squash Puree
Dessert
- Sugar-Free Chocolate Cupcake with Mocha-Hazelnut Cream Cheese Frosting
- Maple Cheese Cake
My goal from the start was to maintain my weight for a week while avoiding the hassle and costs of eating meals out or cooking, which I was able to accomplish on The Fresh Diet. Before you balk at the prices, just remember that if you’ve grown accustomed to picking up fancy lattes, over-the-counter salads and sushi dinners, The Fresh Diet can save you money and preserve your sanity!
