Staying in on date #4

Q: I've seen the same woman three times already and we seem to get along very well and enjoy spending time together. On a physical level, we've just kissed a few times. So far on the dates, we've met up for drinks (first date), second date was dinner and then out for a drink, third date was dinner and then a drink. There will most likely be a fourth date and I'm thinking of inviting her my place to watch this dvd I have. Does it matter, if I invite her back to my place or is it better if she invites me back to hers at this point in the relationship?

It sounds like you are moving in a promising direction, but dates 4-7 can be the trickiest when it comes to deciphering right from wrong. Getting to the next level of intimacy in a relationship is hard to achieve, especially when balancing the physical and emotional desires of two potential partners. For the healthiest long term relationship results, it is best to be authentic with one's intentions, even if they are purely sexual.

Depending on the nature of the DVD (and assuming it is appropriate), "her place" or "your place" should not make a difference. Try setting the tone by making a more intimate suggestion like "I thought it would be nice if we ordered in or cooked dinner together." Her response will likely be a clear indicator of her comfort zone.
