Tales From A Poker Girl in Vegas

Q: Where are you from?
Severna Park, MD - it's in between D.C. and Baltimore.
Q: Biggest accomplishment you achieved on your own?
Most recently, I was laid off due to the economy and I've been having a really hard time finding a job. Last week I applied for a position and they called me for an interview. Come to find out, more than 160 people applied for this job and they offered it to me!!! What a great feeling. I beat out 160 people and then I had the nerve to ask for more money and they gave it to me!!
Q: Name three things a man can do on a date that would make you lose interest?
Smoke
Talk too much about a former girlfriend (it shows that he's still stuck on her)
Try to have sex too quickly
Q: When it comes to dating, do you think text and instant messaging is good or bad?
I don't have a problem with it, but sometimes the message can get blurred because you can't hear a tone or an inflection in the person's voice. The person might be kidding, but I might get offended because the text might look derogatory to me. It's much easier to have a meaningful conversation in person or over the phone. I'm not a big fan of talking on the phone though, so I love text messaging.
Q: What do you love most about being single?
I love the freedom. I can do anything I want and I never have to answer to anyone.
Q: Best spot to dine out alone in your area?
I have to be honest, I don't dine out alone. If I want some Thai food, I'll take it to go.
Q: What advice would you give to singles that have put their lives on hold until “they meet the one?”
I would say that they need to live life to the fullest and enjoy being single because eventually a man, marriage and babies will come into the picture and then they will never be able to get anything done.
Q: Any self-confidence boosters for people who suffer dating jitters?
Just think to yourself that it's only a dinner and it's no big deal if things don't work out. You were fine without him before, and you'll be fine without him if things don't work out.
Q: Breaking up with friends is one of the hardest things to do. What’s the best way to handle it?
I never take a friend breakup lightly. To me, it hurts more to lose a friend than anything. I guess the best way to handle it is to make a new friend and that will take your mind off the friend you lost.
Q: How does one bounce back when all of their friends suddenly get married?
Again, my solution is to go out and find more single friends to hang out with. I've had a lot of friends get married and they promise that things won't change, but that's not true. Things always change. It's good to keep in touch with the married friends, but just remember that she won't have nearly as much time to hang out as she used to. So, make some more friends!
