Q: Best Solo Escape:
A picnic with wine at dusk at the edge of the Grand Canyon.

Q: Biggest Accomplishment you achieved on your own?

Moving from Seattle to Chicago by myself without knowing anyone or my way around, and finding a great job, great friends and starting nursing school.

Q: The best place to meet new people?

Doing something recreational...rock climbing, rent a kayak, or at the dog park.

Q:Most Inspiring Book, Movie or Person?

The movie "Once."

Q: Funniest. Craziest, Worst Date Ever?

I was on this really great date. We were getting along, we had a lot in common and there was an obvious attraction between us. We first met at this really nice classy lounge and had a few drinks and then proceeded on to dinner. The restaurant he picked was one I had been wanting to go to, so automatic points there. Without dinner we ordered a bottle of wine, as per usual. Well I don't know if my date had a bit too much truth serum (alcohol) but in the middle of our conversation he mentioned that his girlfriend would really like this place!!! I got up right then and walked out and didn't look back. Stopped at 7-Eleven on my way home got some tabloid mags and a slushie and called it a night.

Q: Favorite Local Restaurant or Bar to go to Solo?

OYSE, It's a sushi place by my house. I can sit outside and watch people go by, eat good food and have a drink.

Q: Have You Ever Been a Victim of Singlism?

Not so much discrimination, as not being able to be involved in conversations while out with friends that are all coupled up. When their conversation include topics such as who sleeps on what side of the bed and their sleeping positon, I have nothing to add, and quite frankly am OK with that!

Q:Words to live by (i.e. favorite quote…)
Everything we are is a result of our thoughts

Q:What do you love most about being single?

I love that I am taking care of my business and doing what makes me happy and keeping myself happy, so when the absolute right person comes along I'll be a better mate for them and myself.

Q:Got any tips, advice, funny or inspiring story?
I'm the type of person who likes everyone to be happy and enjoying themselves so much that sometimes I forget about myself and what makes me happy. Put yourself first sometimes. You have to make sure your taken care of too. :)
