So you think there is a shortage of eligible singles in your town? We beg to differ. Our editors recently came across a detailed spending report issued by Bundle.com and dissected the data addressing single consumer dining out trends. Here’s what we discovered: Single men and women are out there but they keep missing each other.

According to the survey, singles’ food spending varies on average nearly 60% more than married couples or single parents over the course of a year. Further, dining out preferences throughout the country were scarcely affected by income levels.  We also found that December is the most popular month for singles to be dining out, followed by August.  And the majority of singles still make regular trips to Starbucks, McDonalds and Subway while The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs and Panera Bread are also popular hangouts for this consumer set.

The chart below reveals some of the restaurants of choice for single men, single women and single parents in top cities across the country. From what we understand, the results reported by Bundle.com are based on each individual’s personal credit card spending information so elaborate business dinners are not on the list.

If you’re ready to get strategic about your dining out and dating life, the preferences below can help you navigate the restaurant scene.
