Bachelor Seeks Help with Time Management 2 Years, 3 Months ago

I am thinking about hiring a life coach to help me better manage my time. You see I am about to turn 40 and my work schedule keeps me in the office and on the road most of the time but this routine is growing tired. Now that I am hitting this milestone in years I would like to spend time enjoying life and hopefully find someone with whom to share it. Can a life coach help me out and if so can anyone recommend someone good who also does phone sessions?

Just looks like to me that your job is so involved it is taking over the rest of your life. Maybe you need to go to your management, and talk with them. Or you need to look at other jobs which don't involve so much overtime or travel. A life coach would help with all aspects of your life, but from what you wrote it just seems your job is super busy.

I think a life coach could be very useful to you. It is very easy to get caught up in work life and never have any free time for yourself. I think a life coach could show you how to balance free time with work and family. The coach could help you solve and overcome your personal goals in an organized way. I would ask around for recommendations and find someone you feel comfortable with. Good luck!

I keep seeing this term "Life Coach" tossed around and I have to admit I have a hard time taking someone with that title seriously. I am sure they have their credentials, but it really just strikes me as silly.
Perhaps a personal assistant or even a digital personal assistant would be helpful to you if you find that you are spending time on a lot of little tasks that could be easily delegated?
I wish I could offer more advice. I wish you the best in finding what you need to make your life more enjoyable!

I agree with what some of the others said when they say it just seems like you are really busy. I do not know if a life coach is really going to be able to help you reorganize your schedule. If your work schedule is too much for you I would talk to your boss and see what you can work out. If you are anything like me and have a ton of vacation time to use but never find the time to do it, maybe you should. Maybe you need some time away to figure out what you really want from life. If you spend all of your time at work, you won't get a clear picture of what your personal needs are. I think it is important to take time for yourself once and a while and see what you truly love about life and strive to get it. Like I said, I think it's about figuring out what you want and I do not think you need to get a life coach. Hope that helps!

I'm with the last two commenters on this. I think the main thing to do is determine what you might be able to get from the life coach. The main thing is that you might get involved with the life coach and then end up determining that that's just one more thing that you have to manage (thus taking more time).
There are courses that you can take through various professional organizations that can help you time management. Check out this Time Management course that is available on line, and has a series of different modules.
